The clear, cold water glows in the deepening light of late afternoon. Fall is coming to the mountains.
Whether a trout answers the door depends on how I knock…
So I knock gently.
What is the difference between a trout, evening sunlight, rock, and water? Absolutely nothing.
In a house made of water, windows are everywhere.
And looking through each window is a gazer.
After setting and rising with the sun, I return.
This is how I live in the moment.
Brook Trout are living proof fire and water are not opposites.
If the poet had written, “In the stream, I am the absence of the stream,” he would have been wrong.
Fly Fishing is how we see the future.
Trout inspire us to gently handle what we love.

Absolutely beautiful! makes me feel calm all over
I really liked the analogy of doors, house made of windows and the “gazer”. The pictures were great too. You guys make a great team.
Maximilian. It is nice to see something on our local waters(I live in Riverton) I have not been into fly fishing for to long yet But I have fished Big and Little C quite often. I really enjoyed your analogies. man I really need to get out.
