This year HowardFilms went on a road trip for America’s most infamous underwater creature: The Largemouth Bass. We wanted to see this fish up close & personal, but were not sure how it could have the drama of a saltwater fish haunting white-sand flats. So, we spent a year looking around for the right place to start our odyssey. And yes, unlike Location X, we ARE going to publicly reveal our locations when we are done shooting. See fly rod pros match skills with spin gear pros – & show why the next big thing in light tackle fishing is upon us: A fish that lies just out of sight & hits you every time like the first swing in a bar fight. We loved every minute of it.

Even though Bass has been on center stage for years, we think what made us cast so relentlessly when we first picked up a rod needs to be rediscovered. So, we did a lot of research and found the ultimate place to start our journey. The home of many of the heaviest bass ever caught on earth: the hills of Southern California. (Our anglers had fished all over the world, and their hands were shaking after the first day from what they saw.)

It’s not every day one finds surfers and Pacific Ocean waves on the way to a Bass honey hole. Fly rods compete against the spin rods, with some pretty entertaining results. The scenery is ridiculous! And while we can only show you a little bit in the trailer, there will be a lot more coming in the months ahead as we edit the project.
